TOP 8 REASONS WHY SLEEPING BRALESS IS BENEFICIAL
By Anna Green March 2, 2020

When it comes to whether or not you should wear your bra to bed, you should refuse to listen to old wives fables, and educate yourself rather to facts and reality. Myths have it that wearing a bra to bed will potentially make your boobs sag. This is far from the truth. Actually, there are iconic beauties who have stuck to sleeping with their bras on to prevent them from sagging. So what is the truth about this subject? Should you wear a bra to bed? Certainly not! Here is what you should know.

Why Sleep Braless?

It is true that you can either choose to sleep with or without a bra. But here is the deal, it is better to sleep without a bra. Here are some of the basic concepts that should encourage you to sleep without a bra.

1. Sleeping braless doesn't cause the breast to sag

Sagging of breasts attributed to sleeping braless is one of the many myths surrounding such a habit. However, it has been proven that sleeping braless does not have any significant effect in relation to the sagging of breasts. Sleeping with your bra on will not keep your breasts in shape. It makes no sense struggling to fight gravity, aging, and pregnancy-the factors that cause sagging of breasts.

2. It is comfortable

It is not comfortable to wear a bra while sleeping. Sleeping without it restraining you around your breast all night seems convincingly comfortable. Very tight bras can be quite uncomfortable as you sleep, especially if you always roll in bed as you sleep.

3. You can get better sleep

Ideally, pajamas are the only clothes designed to be worn at night during sleep. They are soft, comfortable, and pliable. On the other hand, bras are not designed to augment a good night's sleep. There are no perfect night bras. As a result, they can be very uncomfortable when you put them on as you retire to your bed for sleep. Your sleep can be worse if the material used to make your bra is itchy and too tight.

4. It is hygienic

Should you wear a bra on as you sleep? Definitely not. It takes the incessant wearing of tight bras to develop certain skin conditions. However, short-term effects may occur owing to the fact that you also sweat a lot from the breast. Tight bras increase sweating. On the other hand, you can reduce profuse sweating by sleeping without your bra on. Sweat is unhygienic and can be very unpleasant, especially when you sleep with your partner. The chemical components of sweat can attract bacteria, which proliferate rapidly.

5. It reduces breast fungus

The lungs play a major role in the gaseous exchange. But did you know that your skin also needs to "breath"? Wearing your bra as you sleep does not allow proper circulation of air within the tissue of the breast, opening doors to possible infections. Although certain bacteria are normal flora on the skin, fungi are not usually found on the skin. Their presence on the skin is encouraged by favorable conditions such as those created by bras. Fungi commonly grow in areas of skin that are moist and warm. Sleeping without a bra reduces breast fungus.

6. It reduces the risk of skin irritation

As the bra rubs on the skin, it constantly causes irritation which may not be noticeable as you sleep. However, the symptoms such as pain and redness will become evident after you wake up. So should you wear a bra to bed? No. Sports bras and bras with wire lining cause severe irritation as you roll over in your bed. This prevents you from having an enjoyable sleep because of the irritation and the pain.

7. It improves your circulation

Bras are designed to be tight enough to support your breasts. If they were loose, they would not be effective. Often, designers will add underwire to the bra to enhance this tightness. Such tightness sometimes obstructs normal blood flow in the breast tissue by compressing blood vessels. Wearing a bra to bed may hinder the circulation of blood. Impaired blood flow has adverse effects such as dizziness, cramps, varicose veins, and other health disorders.

8. It reduces hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation simply means skin discoloration and formation of dark spots on the skin. This condition occurs secondary to increased melanin in the skin-the pigment that gives the skin its color. The mechanism is simple, tight bras constantly rub against the skin causing friction, irritation, and damage to the skin. This eventually causes skin hyperpigmentation. Sleeping without a bra reduces hyperpigmentation.

Conclusion

Deciding whether or not to wear your bra to bed directly determines your health and your hygiene. It has nothing to do with the aesthetic value of the breast-whether they will sag or not. People may have their own reasons for going to bed with their bras. However, it is prudent to conclude that it is not healthy and comfortable to go to bed while wearing your bra. You may want to remove it and wear your pajamas so that you enjoy your sleep fully. Here is a video to help you learn more about this issue.
